LOOK AND FEEL YOUR BEST ON YOUR BIG DAY

The post engagement glow is real – you’re excited about marrying the love of your life and happiness and gorgeousness radiates from you! Fast forward 18 months of stress, chasing wedding invites, appointment after appointment after appointment and it’s safe to say you may be looking for a little help to get that glow back.

So I’ve put together this guide to beauty before your wedding day. From when to book in your wax to when to schedule hair appointments, you’ll have every angle covered to ensure you are picture perfect and looking every part the blushing bride.

8-10 months before the day

Hair: If you are thinking about changing your hair colour or having a dramatic style change now’s the time to experiment. If you hate it there’s still plenty of time for you to correct it or grow it out.

Skincare: Start incorporating skincare into your daily schedule if you don't currently do so. Cleanse, tone and moisturise every morning and night and add in a nourishing mask and an exfoliation once a week.

Fitness: When it comes to your fitness, avoid crash diets by thinking about your fitness goals now. This way you’ll look healthy and glowing rather than exhausted for your big day. Up the fruit and vegetables for healthy looking skin and nails.

Vitamins: Consider taking supplements for strong, healthy hair, skin and nails before your wedding. Don’t know where to start? Have a chat with your doctor or pharmacist.

4-6 months before the day

Hair and Makeup: Book in for any hair and makeup trials. Experiment with different looks, try your hair up and down to see which you prefer, take any hair accessories such as your veil or hairpiece to your appointment too so they can be incorporated into the style. Once you know which hair stylist and makeup artist you’d like to go with, book them early. Great hair and makeup stylists can book up months before your date – so contact them early to avoid disappointment.

Teeth Whitening: Many teeth whitening services take a couple of appointments before you get maximum results. If its something you are considering, book your first appointment now and then use an at home kit to keep your pearly whites nice and topped up before the day.

Consider an early hen do: Many people have breakouts or at the very least get tired, dull looking skin if they've had a heavy night on the town. Avoid any nasty breakouts and ensure your skin has time to recover from any short-term alcohol effects.

Skin: It’s time to up the water. Ensure you are drinking at least 8 glasses of water on the run up to your wedding. Set a reminder on your phone if you need to. Your skin and sparkly, healthy eyes will thank you for it.

1 month to 2 weeks before the wedding

Tanning: If you are considering going with a bronzy glow before the wedding decide exactly how you are going to achieve it. You may consider using a gradual tanning moisturiser or having a professional spray tan. Now’s the time to get comfortable with your option and have a trial run to avoid an orange look on the day.

Hair: Book in for a colour refresh, trim and hair treatment around a month before your wedding. This will ensure your hair is lovely and shiny for your wedding day without being completely unmanageable.

Brows: Get your brows waxed, threaded or shaped around 2 weeks before the wedding and then keep on top of unruly hairs daily at home to avoid any red bumps or marks on the day.

1 week before the wedding

Wax: Book your wax in around a week before your wedding so that your skin has time to recover.

Manicure/Pedicure: Book your manicure and pedicure for the week of your wedding. Use a gel polish to avoid chips and cracks on the day. You should have already picked the colour to complement your theme so you can just sit back and relax!

Spray Tan: If you are having a spray tan book it for 2-3 days before your date so that it has time to fade and look a little more natural.

Beauty Sleep: Get a few early nights in, ensure you have lots of rest and relaxation, light a candle, spray some lavender on your pillow and keeping drinking that water!

The Wedding Day

Congratulations you made it! Now all you need to do is smile, look gorgeous and try not to cry – but the waterproof mascara will have you covered if you do!
